Minister of Health: Ensuring Liquidity is One of the Major Challenges for the Food and Drug Organization
At the ceremony for the appreciation and introduction of the new head of the Food and Drug Organization, the Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education highlighted the challenges of providing medicines and medical equipment. He emphasized the need to reform the flawed liquidity cycle, adjust pricing to reflect reality, and establish an organized structure in the fields of medicine and equipment. He also stressed the importance of meeting public needs in food, medicine, supplements, and equipment, stating:
“In these difficult times, we all have one goal, and that is to meet the essential needs of the people.”
Dr. Mohammadreza Zafarghandi, addressing the challenges in this area, added:
“In recent years, we have faced numerous difficulties, including economic, social, and sanctions-related factors, which have directly impacted our activities.”
The issue of ensuring liquidity remains one of the most significant challenges facing the Food and Drug Organization, with considerable efforts made to address it. Additionally, pricing adjustments and reforming the medicine and medical equipment distribution system are key priorities in this field.
The Minister expressed hope that, with the support of government institutions, insurers, the budget and planning organization, and producers, the existing barriers would be resolved. He anticipated that under the new management of the Food and Drug Organization, public needs for medicine and medical equipment would be met in the best possible way.
“Our aim is for patients to endure no hardship other than their illness.”
