Reducing the workload of doctors and nurses in India with the help of AI
Indian hospital management company Apollo Hospitals plans to invest more in AI tools to reduce the workload of its doctors and nurses by automating routine tasks such as collecting medical documents.
Indian hospitals, struggling with overworked doctors and nurses, are increasingly using AI to increase diagnostic accuracy, predict the risk of complications, improve precision in robotic surgeries, provide virtual medical care, and streamline hospital operations.
Apollo, which has become one of the largest hospital chains in India with over 10,000 beds across its network, has allocated 3.5% of its digital investment in AI over the past two years and plans to increase its investment this year.
The goal is to free up two to three hours of time for doctors and nurses with AI interventions.
